Ruby Valley (Ganesh Himal)
A quiet homestay trek below Ganesh Himal with a four-range pass panorama.
Overview
The Ruby Valley trek is a beautiful, low-key homestay trek through the Ganesh Himal region between Langtang and Manaslu — named for the rubies once mined in its hills. Its high point, the Pangsang La (3,850 m), serves up a rare four-range panorama of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Manaslu and even distant Annapurna.
With community homestays in Tamang and Gurung villages, wildflower meadows, waterfalls and almost no other trekkers, it is an ideal short, cultural alternative to the crowded classics. Low in altitude and flexible in length, it suits travellers wanting authentic village life and big mountain views without a major expedition.
